Data Investment Program
To support these initiatives, Foodbuy has invested in a multi-year Data Investment Strategy to design, collate, visualise and empower their clients and consumers through data connectivity with their supply chain.
A key component of Foodbuy’s Data Investment Strategy is a partnership with global standards organisation, GS1 Australia, specifically the National Product Catalogue (NPC). The partnership with GS1 Australia will enable Foodbuy to work with suppliers and manufacturers who are already GS1 members, while encouraging new suppliers to onboard to the National Product Catalogue for consistent collection and quality supply chain data into their systems and to their clients.
How the data will be used
Foodbuy will use the data obtained via GS1 to empower their clients and consumers across the food, beverage, retail products and services.
From their “Grown Here, Not Flown Here” approach to Australian sourcing, through investment in ATSI, SME and Social Enterprise supply chains the Foodbuy team utilise millions of data attributes to provide clients with product information including point of origin, nutritional content, sustainability credentials and much more
From tender opportunities through menu management and client reporting, the Foodbuy team visualise this deep industry data with best-in-class systems to develop new growth opportunities for both clients and suppliers.
The National Product Catalogue
The National Product Catalogue is a complete solution that helps you maintain all your product master data and digital content (on- pack data and images) in a central location.
You can then share this information in real-time, with all trading partners across the supply chain, with confidence that you are compliant and meeting retailer and regulatory requirements.
