Industry has defined a goal to enable the use of Next Gen Barcodes, in addition to existing barcodes, at retail point-of-sale across the globe by the end of 2027.

Retailers that are already implementing Next Gen Barcodes have reported the upgrade period is between 12 and 18 months minimum.
