Description:

A code assigned by the Supplier or manufacturer to logically group trade items independently from the Global trade item classification. This code is typically assigned to multiple GTINs.

Example:

WBS - A group created by the supplier for private label products for Worlds Best Supermarkets
0024 - A group created by the supplier for food products

Useful Tips:

  • Trade Item Group Identification Code must be the same for all GTINs in the hierarchy

  • Trade Item Group Identification Code Description is mandatory when Trade Item Group Identification Code is populated

  • Within the entire catalogue, only allocate one Trade Item Group Identification Code per Trade Item Group Identification Code Description

  • The Trade Item Group Identification Code can be used as a search criteria in the National Product Catalogue
