Prostheses Rebate Code
The code is used by hospitals and health providers to claim back the mandatory private health insurance rebate when patients are fitted with prostheses or related products are used. The list of these products is managed by the Private Health Insurance branch of the Department of Health.
In order to achieve greater accuracy and traceability related to the products that are implanted or used, Australia health providers have requested that suppliers with products listed on the Prosthesis List all provide product data including the Prostheses Rebate Code within the National product Catalogue. This field should be treated as MANDATORY for all items that are covered under this list & should be maintained for accuracy on an ongoing basis.

Additional Trade Item Identification Type Code and Additional Trade Item Identification Value must be provided together
