Valid GTINs in the NPC are: GTIN-14, GTIN-13, GTIN-12, GTIN-8.

A GTIN on the NPC must always be entered with 14 digits. Use leading zeros for GTINs with less than 14 digits.

Example:

Utilise leading zeroes for GTINs which do not contain 14 digits. For example:

GTIN-13 as 09312345678914, GTIN-12 as 00018765439218, GTIN-8 as 00000093456838

Useful Tips:
  • The check digit of the GTIN must always be correct. A check digit calculator is available at https://www.gs1au.org/resources/check-digit-calculator

  • This field is mandatory and must always be provided at all levels of packaging

  • Variable Unit GTINs must begin with either “9” or “020” through to “029"
