GTIN (Global Trade Item Number)
Commonly referred to as a barcode number, this uniquely identifies a trade item.
Valid GTINs in the NPC are: GTIN-14, GTIN-13, GTIN-12, GTIN-8.
A GTIN on the NPC must always be entered with 14 digits. Use leading zeros for GTINs with less than 14 digits.
Utilise leading zeroes for GTINs which do not contain 14 digits. For example:
GTIN-13 as 09312345678914, GTIN-12 as 00018765439218, GTIN-8 as 00000093456838

This field is mandatory and must always be provided at all levels of packaging
Variable Unit GTINs must begin with either “9” or “020” through to “029"
