A code indicating the type of allergen when used in conjuntion with the Level of Containment Code indicates the presence or absence of the allergen in the item.
Example:
The Allergen Type Code of "AW" with the Level of Containment Code of "CONTAINS" would be used to indicate that the item contains the allergen Gluten.
