The HGAG GreenLife Working Group
The level of adoption of GS1 standards within the GreenLife sector is improving, particularly in the area of individual plant identification.
This is being driven by activities of the GreenLife Industry Working Group, which is part of the Hardware GS1 Action Group.
The GreenLife industry Working Group meets bi-monthly and includes key retailers such as Masters, Bunnings, and Home Timber & Hardware as well as nurseries including Elegant Outdoors, Benara, ProteaFlora, Oasis Horticulture and Nursery Traders.
The current initiative is endorsed and supported by the leading GreenLife Industry associations, including NGIA, NGINA, NGIV, and NGIQ.
The group is currently focusing on training and education for the sector. This includes developing a simple numbering and barcoding guideline document, as well as an industry value proposition document. The group is also interested in traceability and bio-security.
