This project is designed to provide industry with tools to simplify the implementation of electronic transport documents between a customer and their transport service provider.

The project has several key goals:

• Develop relevant technical documentation that can help with the implementation effort and reduce the cost of adopting the GS1 Transport Management electronic messages
• Develop a framework for communicating to industry, and showcase the benefits of adopting these B2B messages
• Outline some real/pilot implementations

The benefits of the project will include:  

• Automating the transport instructions between transport user and transport provider
• Improved ease of implementation
• Improved transactional accuracy through eliminating manual data entry
• Supporting the automated scanning process
