Data quality in focus
GS1 Australia and the Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency), in partnership with the Healthcare Industry, have recently been focussed on delivering a Data Quality Improvement Program to address Healthcare Industry concerns relating to data quality within the National Product Catalogue (NPC) and other systems requiring standardised product data.
Many of the tools that were developed as part of this program are now available for use. We encourage all healthcare organisations to review the tools and utilise those relevant to your organisation.
NEW – National Product Catalogue in Healthcare Webpage
The National Product Catalogue was implemented to assist the healthcare industry to support the need for standardised, supplier managed data across the whole of the healthcare value chain. This new webpage is aimed at consolidating all relevant information for Healthcare users of this industry focussed solution.

NEW – Product Data, Standard Use Cases for Healthcare
As healthcare continues to become increasingly digitised, there is a need to for the entire health system to view all processes within the flow not in isolation, but instead as parts of the same, connected value chain. To support this continuous flow this document seeks to aid this understanding by defining some of the key processes where there is a need for product data.

This scorecard has been designed to help organisations look internally at its Strategy, Data, Process, People and Technology with respect to the quality of product master data.
