NPC Implementation Resources
| Healthcare GTIN Allocation Rules | Use this document for guidance on how to allocate Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) to all packaging levels. The minimum requirement is to allocate a unique GTIN to any item which is priced, ordered or invoiced at any point in the supply chain. The GS1 Healthcare User Group is developing, promoting and implementing global industry standards for solutions to prevent medical errors, combat counterfeit products and improve supply chain efficiencies throughout the healthcare industry. The initial focus has primarily been on Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices and thus this document reflects the current engaged representation. While the principles and examples given may be applied to the entire healthcare sector, further development and updates to ensure that specific examples from animal health, dental products, etc may be added. Should a sector believe it is necessary to provide further input or additions to this document it should approach the GS1 Healthcare User Group to initiate these discussions. Note: The GS1 Healthcare User Group website is continuously updated. download |
| GLN Allocations for Healthcare | The GLN information previously maintained in this section of the website is now being actively maintained by the NPC Data Recipients on GS1Locatenet. NPC users will need to subscribe to GS1Locatenet in order to obtain the correct GLN information for both Pricing and Ship To locations. For further information on GS1Locatenet and the future of GLN management, please go to the GS1Locatenet section on the website. If you need to contact your Healthcare Data Recipient regarding their GLNs, click here. |
