Guest Lectures
GS1 Australia aims is to develop graduates who are industry-ready and knowledgeable about global standards. This is not exclusive to supply chain students because the knowledge of the GS1 System applies to a wide range of disciplines. In this content, GS1 Australia has delivered lectures primarily to students studying the Master of Business IT, but specifically in courses such as e-Procurement and Supply Chain Technologies. Guest lectures have typically been in the areas of: data synchronisation, barcoding and RFID, point of sale management and traceability.
Career boosting course
In addition to the guest lectures an optional module is offered by GS1 Australia to RMIT students. This module was established in 2007 and is aimed at understanding the GS1 standard for tracking, tracing and authenticating products in the supply chain - enhancing the student's study of supply chain management.

Visit at the GS1 Knowledge Centre
Students have also participated in sessions at the GS1 Supply Chain Knowledge Centre. These sessions allow students to experience a real supply chain simulation and gain experience, knowledge and understanding of the concepts discussed throughout the semester. One of the benefits of the GS1 Supply Chain Knowledge Centre is that it shows the physical and logical supply chains as separate entities and demonstrates how they interact to create efficiency, ultimately aiding integration and collaboration- key objectives of good supply chain management.
