Why was the GS1 Supply Chain Knowledge Centre created?
The GS1 Supply Chain Knowledge Centre concept was created for our members and partners, with five objectives in mind.
- To be able to demonstrate the full system of GS1 standards in the context of the entire supply chain
- To present a vision of what going beyond customer compliance could look like
- To show what supply chain integration and collaboration are, and how to achieve them
- To show the physical and logical supply chains as separate entities and how they interact to create efficiency
- As a showcase for the demonstration of the latest in supply chain theory and practice

GS1works
Business Solutions come to life ...
The new, state-of-the-art GS1works tour, situated in GS1 Australia's award-winning Supply Chain Knowledge Centre, is an interactive training supply chain module which explores the supply chain challenges facing businesses of all sizes today and shows how the GS1 standards solve these issues.
GS1works brings to life the business solutions offered by the use of GS1 standards including unique identification, bar coding, eMessaging and data synchronisation while highlighting emerging technologies such as EPC/RFID.
The Supply Chain Knowledge Centre is a life-size model of how a supply chain works, demonstrating GS1 standards in action and providing visibility from the receipt of raw materials, through the production process into warehousing and distribution, and onward to the retail back of store and Point-of-Sale.
