What is GS1net™ / NPC?
Data Synchronisation
Suppliers share product information with retailers to ensure that the supply chain operates effectively and that their products reach the consumers. Retailers require product information from their suppliers to drive many areas of their business, for instance, new product introductions, warehousing, distribution and support systems.
Traditionally, this sharing of information has been done in a manual way, through emails, paper based forms (e.g. UBF), faxes and telephone calls. These manual processes can be costly, time consuming, error prone and inefficient.
GS1net is GS1 Australia’s data synchronisation solution for the Australian and New Zealand markets. GS1net lets you enter, validate, store and maintain all your product, pricing and other related trade information in a single location. You can then easily share this global standards-based information with the trading partners you work with, across all industry sectors, both in Australia and around the world.
Specifically within the Healthcare industry, the NPC (National Product Catalogue) is a single repository of product, pricing and healthcare data for all Health Industry Product Categories for the purpose of data synchronisation. These categories include pharmaceutical, medical devices (including orthopaedics, implants, dental, imaging, etc.), catering and food services, cleaning products, etc. The NPC is hosted by GS1 Australia on GS1net™.
