How do I improve my business using GS1 numbering, barcoding and electronic messaging standards?
The Classroom session runs throughout the day and allows new members to understand, and existing members to refresh their knowledge of the GS1 System 
. The session provides a fundamental grounding in the practical application of the GS1 standards.

- What the key principles of the GS1 System of standards are
- How to identify your retail and non-retail trade items using the Global Trade Item Number® (GTIN)
- Which GS1 BarCodes to use depending on the nature of your products
- What the technical requirements regarding barcoding are
- What eCommerce is and how to use it with your trading partners
- What Global Data Synchronisation is
- What Radio Frequency Identification is and how to use the EPC standards
- How to practically implement the GS1 System
Workshops in the afternoon allow participants to put into practise the learning's of the morning session. As part of the workshops attendees will:
- create GTINs for retail and non-retail items
- produce logistic labels in compliance with the GS1 recommendations
- work on the quality of the barcodes and the GS1 Verification Reports
