Community Management Tool
GS1 Australia complements its current service offerings through delivering a service of message implementation guidelines (MIG's) publication, testing and validation of electronic test messages. This service is delivered via the subscription to the GS1 Community Management Tool (CMT).
A significant benefit of an online solution for testing is the 24 hour x 7 day x 365 day operability allowing members the flexibility of resource allocation.
The site also incorporates trading document descriptions for each community and the ability for each major trading partner to include within the library of MIG's its own specify trading messages should this be a requirement. It includes traditional based Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
syntax (e.g. UN/EDIFACT) as well as XML syntax or GS1 XML
.
Upon completion of testing and validation a trading partner (supplier) is certified as an electronic trading partner via electronic confirmation to the retail trading partner.

The Community Management Tool provides an interface between trading partners, allowing each partner to conduct testing and validation of test messages independent of the other partner.
