GS1net will go LIVE on Friday 31st August 2007. Hundreds of suppliers to Coles and Metcash are now rushing to meet this deadline; with the remaining EANnet community examining resources and timelines so they can be fully GS1net operational before EANnet shuts down in March 2008.
GS1 Australia EANnet Client Services will provide the following support free for GS1net migration to registered suppliers:
- Access for up to two supplier representative to a GS1net Group Training Session
- Documented Impact Statement
- Documented Gap Analysis
- Data Porting from EANnet to GS1net
- Data Validation Services
- GS1net Ready Steps
To assist over and above this, GS1 Australia has announced that for a limited time and for a special price, the GS1 Australia Professional Services consultants will be available to undertake the migration process from EANnet to GS1net for all EANnet users.
The release of GS1net contains many improvements and new features. GS1net users will find it faster and easier to manage than previous versions; reducing the cost of ownership and maximising return on investment.
The most significant difference between the old EANnet and new GS1net is the seamless integration between it and the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN). This allows accurate data to be securely shared around the world between suppliers, wholesalers, logistics operators, retailers and other data recipients.
The new GS1net platform is also considerably easier to manage as it uses global compliant standards to allow unification – a major step towards global transparency.
GS1 Professional Services team has the system experience and the product-specific conversion tools to help everyone in the EANnet user community to migrate from EANnet to GS1net, with significant business benefits in terms of a speedier migration, cost avoidance and cost reduction.
If your business needs to migrate from EANnet to the new GS1net platform, please contact Jason Burnell at GS1 Australia on 03 9550 3404 or 1300 366 033 for more information about this special offer.
