Upstream
Key Participants and Implementers
All of the GUSI Australian Project Participant have endorsed the GUSI Model as the standard to be used in the Australian FMCG sector for Upstream Integration.
This endorsement means that although actual implementation timelines for different FMCG manufacturers will be different, the standards implemented will be common enabling raw materials and packaging suppliers to be confident that their investment in these standards will be leveraged across a wide range of customers.
Project teams
The project team was based on two groups:
Working Group
Facilitated by GS1 Australia, this group of companies met weekly to examine the GUSI Upstream Implementation Model v2.2 to develop an understanding of it and take its components back into the business subject matter experts, to check that there are no GUSI requirements that would not be acceptable to the business. This was confirmed.
The group developed a good knowledge and understanding of the UIM which will assist their companies to conduct effective projects and act as knowledgeable resources for trading partners. We thank these organisations for their commitment to the Australian project.

Reference Group
This larger group of reference companies consisted of all Working Group companies plus many other manufacturers and suppliers as shown below. It also included retailers who are interested in how upstream integration can be leveraged to help their manufacturing suppliers deliver downstream results as well.
