Australian Hardware industry
For further information on any of the Hardware industry initiatives contact John Szabo – Industry Manager on 1300 366 033 or via email.
Background
GS1 Australia is working with both retailers and suppliers in the Hardware sector to drive best practice supply chain principles across the entire sector. Adoption of the GS1 Standards (Numbering and Barcoding, eMessaging and Electronic Data Synchronisation) will bring improved business efficiency and effectiveness for all companies within the supply chain.
The current level of adoption of the GS1 Standards within the Hardware industry sector is varied, and has focused primarily on Consumer Unit Identification and Numbering and eMessaging.
Electronic Data Synchronisation within the industry sector, via the GS1net™ data pool, is set to commence mid to late 2008. Several suppliers in the Hardware sector are currently involved in data synchronisation within the Grocery industry sector and have realised benefits to their organisations. Electronic Data Synchronisation is seen as a fundamental requirement for successful electronic messaging.
