Business Development Executive

Due to continued growth, two opportunities to join our Business Development team in the position of Business Development Executive have become available. The positions are based in Sydney or Melbourne. The positions are permanent, full time and report to Marcel Sieira, Business Development and Professional Services Manager.
The Role:
You will be responsible for generating new business across all services offered by GS1 Australia, including numbering and bar code scanning, B2B eMessaging, Data Synchronisation (GS1net), as well as emerging areas such as EPC Global (Radio Frequency ID). You will develop customised proposals and be involved in the development of new service offerings. You will enjoy developing relationships with Members, Alliance Partners and Industry Associations.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in this autonomous role, you will have proven experience in Business Development and/or Account Management, selling supply chain/eCommerce products or services, ideally within industries such as FMCG, Liquor, Retail, Healthcare, or Consulting. The role requires an appreciation of supply chain business processes to extend the use of GS1 Australia’s services by the membership base. You will have strong communication skills, including presenting/public speaking, proposal development skills and proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the GS1 System or experience with implementation of eCommerce solutions such as EDI/XML message development, but it is not essential as extensive training will be provided to the successful candidate.
