Maria Palazzolo
Chief Executive Officer
Maria joined GS1 Australia shortly after it was founded in 1979. During her time with the organisation, Ms Palazzolo has been responsible for the successful implementation of global standards for eCommerce applications within many companies in different industry sectors throughout Australia. Ms Palazzolo has also been responsible for producing industry specifications as well as collaborating on the introduction of eCommerce strategies in a range of industry sectors including defence and government.
Her work with organisations such as the Australian Retailers Association, Australian Industry Group, National Association of Retail Grocers Australia, Australian Food and Grocery Council, Logistics Association of Australia and the Australian Industry Information Association has ensured she has a wealth of experience in all aspects of supply chain management and technology development.
Mark Fuller
Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining GS1 Australia in 1999, Mark worked with BHP for over twenty years holding senior roles in operations, logistics, sales and marketing. At BHP Mark led the implementation of leading edge supply chain solutions including one of Australia's first corporate eCommerce gateways.
Mark's role at GS1 Australia is to collaborate with industry and government to create greater awareness and utilisation of the GS1 System of global standards as an enabler for improving supply chain management. As well as managing day to day operations, Mark is also responsible for the growth and development of GS1 Australia's suite of products and services.
Steven Pereira
Chief Information Officer
Steven Pereira, has been with GS1 Australia since August 1996. In that time, Steven has held a number of high-level managerial positions within the organisation. His current responsibilities involve GS1 Business Systems, Standards and Emerging Technologies and Education. Steven is also the RosettaNet Australia Director.
Prior to joining GS1 Australia, Steven spent seventeen years with Coles Myer. Steven is involved in several Australian industry working groups and committees.
Colin Barnes
Chief Financial Officer
Colin Barnes joined GS1 Australia in December 2001. Prior to joining GS1 he worked in the film and television production industry for ten years holding chief financial officer and company secretarial positions. He has also held senior financial roles with companies Bosch, Philip Morris, and Costain. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with CPA Australia.
As Chief Financial Officer Colin's responsibilities include finance, legal, risk management and membership administration. Colin is also the Company Secretary of GS1 Australia.
